Countdown to the Australian Skateboarding League National Final

The YMCA in partnership with Skate Australia and our local government partners are coming close to announce the finalist of the Australian Skateboarding League (ASL) national final. With only two state qualifiers to go:

Victorian State qualifiers: Frankston Skate Park on Saturday 23 February.

South Australian State qualifiers: Adelaide temporary Skate Park on Saturday 16 February.

These events make up one part of the YMCA’s national pathway program that visits skate parks in QLD, VIC, SA, TAS, NT, WA & NSW.

Karen Doyle the president of Skate Australia (The peak body for all skate disciplines in Australia) says, with the addition of skateboarding to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, the series presents as a great opportunity for young skateboard enthusiasts to harness their skill base and progress through a structured national pathway. In addition to the pathway the series presents opportunities for young people to gain practical training in sports administration and event management.

The YMCA facilitates more than 100 skate park related events across Australia each year. With a growing network of more than 6,000 participants, this series is the biggest and most established Skate Park related series in Australia.
