Amelia Shaw has proudly been associated with the Y since 2008 when she started with the organisation as a Youth Parliamentarian in Queensland. She was appointed as a director of the National Board in 2020 and has been a director of Y Brisbane and Y-Care since 2018.
Amelia works for GrainGrowers Ltd as a Policy Manager overseeing the Trade and Rural Affairs portfolios. Amelia has experience in strategy development, marketing and advertising as well as a comprehensive knowledge of the agricultural sector.
Amelia is passionate about promoting young voices and ensuring young people are represented in conversations about the future of Australia. Throughout her career, Amelia has held roles advocating for young people, including as Y Brisbane’s Youth Development Coordinator, where she volunteered to assist with the delivery of the National Indigenous Youth Parliament and mentored youth indigenous volunteers. Amelia also holds the position of Vice-Chair of the Future Farmers Network.
