Phil Doorgachurn is passionate about ensuring that children and young people feel safe and are safe – at the Y, in their families, and in their communities. Phil commenced at the Y in 2019, with an ambitious leadership challenge to develop the inaugural National Safeguarding Unit. Under Phil’s strategic leadership, the Y across Australia has been equipped to meet and exceed organisational, cultural and transformational goals.
Phil joined The Y with extensive safeguarding experience, including:
– Head of Safeguarding, Arsenal Football Club, UK.
– Executive Manager Risk, Quality Assurance & Governance, Premier League, UK.
– Head of Safeguarding Training for the 2012 London Olympic Games, UK.
– Senior Consultant, National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, UK.
