Olly Tripodi joins Y Australia team

June 1, 2022 The Y in Australia
Y Australia is excited to announce the appointment of Olly Tripodi as Head, Office for Young People and Executive Manager – Stakeholder Relations.

Olly has extensive experience in youth work, policy, advocacy and stakeholder relations both to and within government.

He also spent 12 months as a roving political journalist for MTV, covering issues of importance for young people.  His most recent role was as Director Stakeholder Relations at Jobsbank, a not for profit that focuses on inclusive employment and social procurement.

Olly’s incredibly passionate about the Y and what it can be on a much larger scale for young people based on his own experience, which began when he arrived at a Youth Parliament camp aged 16. It was only at his mum’s insistence that he didn’t pull out of the program at the last minute (to sleep!) – a moment of parental influence of seismic proportions.

“I credit the Y with being the person that I am today,” says Olly, who has taken a leave of absence as a long-serving Board Member at Y Victoria for six months to step into a key operational role with the Y nationally.

“I’m a passionate believer in our Y movement because I’ve been a beneficiary of it and have seen the transformative effect the Y can have on peoples’ lives.”

“The federal election last week is the most recent evidence of an engaged, impassioned and mobilised generation of young people. The Y in Australia, as it always has, must continue to be an ally for young people seeking to change the world for the better.”

Olly started with Y Australia today, 1 June, 2022. You can connect with him via oliver.tripodi@the-Y.org.au.
