CEOs across the Y in Australia joined together to thank National CEO Melinda Crole for her exceptional service in 2020.
In 2020, Melinda’s advocacy efforts have been outstanding. She was involved in conversations with the Prime Minister, the Deputy Chair of the National COVID-19 Co-ordination committee and key leaders across Australia.
Her advocacy efforts included 37 briefing papers to Ministers, 12 direct conversations with key Ministers, 5 invitations to Ministerial briefings, and direct contact to senior advisors to Ministers (including Treasury, PM’s office and Opposition Leader) and she attended over 100 advocacy meetings.
Melinda developed strong partnership connections with OSHC & Recreation industry peers, and initiated with her team key youth peak collaborations.
She has collaborated strongly with CEOs and Boards daily, and weekly.
Her work in the Safeguarding Children space over a number of years, including innovative research with children and nudge theory, which resulted in the “Stay Safe Tell Someone” program being launched this year by our National Safeguarding Unit.
Her innovations this year – have included leadership with the Y Careers hub/JobCreator.
She’s also led the Reimagine labs nationally, and globally with the mental health communities of impact.
Her long term commitment and leadership with the Y Brand resulted in this year’s why we are here campaign – reinforcing our public stance for young people.
Melinda has championed the Y’s belief in the power of inspired young people, and advocated for the amplification of their voices for years, resulting in a continuing number of national initiatives.
She has achieved all of this with a smile on her face, and always with time to spare for a chat with a young person…
Melinda Crole – we thank and acknowledge you for your exceptional service this year.
