The Y’s Global Change Agent Program is a bold, international leadership experience designed to supercharge young leaders and help them create real world impact.
Led by the World YMCA, this 18-month program brings together passionate young changemakers from across the globe for immersive training, mentorship and project development.
Throughout the program, Change Agents explore how their voice, ideas and actions contribute to the Y’s Vision 2030 – a shared global roadmap for creating a better world with and for young people. All the while, they’re growing their leadership capabilities and deepening their connection to local community.
Here in Australia, participants are supported to deliver an intergenerationally co-designed project – driving grassroots impact locally, while contributing to the broader global vision. Rooted in the four pillars of Vision 2030 – Community Wellbeing, Meaningful Work, a Just World and a Sustainable Planet – Change Agents projects are innovative, purpose-driven initiatives that make a difference.
From local action to global conversations, Change Agents bring our four global pillars to life – turning out-of-the-box ideas into real-world impact. Together, they form a powerful movement of young people driving change across borders – grounded in a local heartbeat, connected by a global vision.

To select our incredible Cohort 5.0, nearly 30 young people from every corner of the country put their hands up to be part of something bigger. After an intergenerational panel review and interview process, we were stoked to nominate a group of standout leaders.
