Our Governance

Jenny McCombe, OAM, was CEO for the Y Canberra for over 14 years, with the responsibility of the overall leadership, development and management of Y Canberra. Y Canberra is a charity, and is a member association of the National Ys of Australia. As a community based organisation governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, the Y believes in the power of inspired young people.

Jenny received an Order of Australia Medal in 2015 for her contribution to the community, particularly through youth organisations. She is a strong advocate for the rights of children, and remains committed to raising the profile of women in leadership roles.

She is a Y Life Governor; Life Member YMCA Canberra; and Director of UnitingCare.
