Bruce shared his passion for sport and community with the Y, he organised the Annual appeal for several years and supported athletes in the Corporate Cup program attended presentative and events and provided much need volunteer support for the refurbishment of the Newtown Stadium.
Bruce has also been a strong advocate for the Y and its community service in discussions with National, State and Local government.
In 1994 Bruce was elected to the Board of Directors of the National Councils of YMCAs of Australia and was President from 1997-2000. He was an Australian delegate to the 14th World Council of YMCA’s in 1998 and a member of the Executive Committee of the Asia-Pacific Alliance of YMCAs from 1997 to 2000.
